Behind every brick that has been rebuilt, every document that has been uncovered and every subsequent stage of the restoration, there are people. It is they who are dedicating their time, knowledge and energy to ensuring that the Mon Plaisir Tower regains its rightful place on the map of Lower Silesia.
Our names are Rafał Wróblewski and Tomasz Krasicki.
Rafał Wróblewski
Chairman of the Izera Local Tourist Organisation and Director of the Krasicki Hotel Resort & SPA. He is primarily responsible for the historical, academic and promotional aspects of the project.
He conducts research into the history of the Mon Plaisir Tower and the work of Adolph Traugott von Gersdorf, searches for archival material in Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany, collaborates with academic institutions, and prepares publications aimed at raising public awareness of the history of this site. He is the author of the concept for a future museum exhibition, the „In the Footsteps of Gersdorf” educational trail, and numerous projects which have made it possible to raise funds for the tower’s reconstruction.
He has been a member since February 2026 Upper Lusatian Society of Sciences e.V. (Upper Lusatian Scientific Society) – a prestigious scientific society founded in 1779, one of whose co-founders was Adolph Traugott von Gersdorf. This membership is an important part of our collaboration with the German academic community specialising in the history and heritage of Upper Lusatia.
In his private life, he is a lawyer, a singer-songwriter, someone fascinated by the history of Lower Silesia, and a keen enthusiast of astronomy and astrophotography. It is precisely this combination of an interest in history and science that has made Mon Plaisir much more than just a historic building to him.
Tomasz Krasicki
Chairman of the Foundation Lausatia & Silesia, who is the tenant of the Mon Plaisir Tower. It was on his initiative that the Foundation was established and efforts began to take over the ruins and save this unique place.
He is primarily responsible for the technical and organisational aspects of the restoration work. He takes part in fieldwork, documentation, planning the next stages of the project and coordinating activities carried out directly at the ruins. It is thanks to his commitment that many ideas are successfully turned into concrete actions.
He also plays an extremely important role within the team – with great composure and common sense, he is able to temper Rafał’s most daring ideas, ensuring that these visions have a chance of becoming reality.
In his private life, he is the owner of Krasicki Hotel Resort & SPA in Świeradów-Zdrój, a pharmacist and a keen beekeeper. He runs his own apiary, and his Izera honey is well known to the hotel’s guests.
Although it is we who most often represent the project to the outside world, the restoration of the Mon Plaisir Tower is the work of a much larger group of people. It is a joint effort by volunteers, archaeologists, architects, conservationists, historians, academic partners, donors, sponsors and everyone who believed that this extraordinary monument was worth saving.
Every donation, every hour of voluntary work, every piece of advice, every shared post and every kind word makes a difference. That is why the restoration of Mon Plaisir is not just the story of two people. It is the story of a community of people brought together by a shared passion and the belief that Lower Silesia’s heritage deserves a new lease of life.
